Anne Marie Paris Vintage 1940s Champagne Bottle Black Suede Gold Box Bag

Absolutely divine, rarest of the rare, Anne Marie of Paris handbag from the 1940s. Legend has it that these bags were gifted to the VIP guests of the high-end Le Meurice Hotel in Paris, waiting for them upon arrival as if they were real bottles of bubbly. This surrealist purse features a 3D Champagne bottle motif in black velvety suede. Rigid, box exterior with gold tone framing, hardware, 'corks', details, and wraps around the bottles. CHAMPAGNE embossed in gold on the front. Lift lock closure. Fits iPhone and other essentials. Fully lined in black satin, the inner stamp reads: Anne-Marie, 228 Rue de Rivoli, Hotel Meurice, Paris. These highly coveted bags are hard to come by and extremely sought after by bag collectors, held by the Met Museum and others, and we are very excited to have one!

Suede / Gold Tone Brass

Measurements: 9" Width, 3" Depth, 6" Box Height, 9.5" Height with Bottles, 8" Handle Drop

Condition: Good overall condition for it's age. Suede has some whitening to the edges. Some loss of the  gold embossing of "SEC" and "CHAMPAGNE". Two of the SEC patches are missing, only the center one remains. Some minor scratches, spots, and discolorations to the brass framing. A repair has been made to the strap that is not very noticeable when used. Priced accordingly.
