Alice Pollock Vintage 1973 Bronze Purple Iridescent Print Striped Satin Dress
Iconic, rare, and ultra collectible dress by legendary British designer Alice Pollock. Documented in British Cosmo, 1973. Alice Pollock founded the Quorum label with textile Celia Birtwell, and would later open the Quorum boutique with Ossie Clark. This stunning dress is an incredible example of Pollock's work and legacy. The most unusual bronze meets greenish brown color that is so perfectly complimented with a beautiful shade of purple. Hammered satin, almost like crepe. An interesting print spans the sleeves and body, anchored and trimmed with a striped print. Sexy neckline cut out with high collar that buttons. Bishop style sleeve with buttoned cuff. Lovely silhouette that is cut on the bias. Very hard to find.
Made in England
Recommended for size XS to Medium.
Measurements: Bust 32-35", Waist 24-32", Hip up to 42", Length 54", Shoulder up to 17", Sleeve 25"
Condition: Overall good condition. There are a few spots and color runs throughout that are rather concealed due to the iridescent nature of the fabric. There was an alteration and adjustment made to the armpit area. We have left it as found and priced it accordingly.
