Azzedine Alaia Vintage AW 1988 Rare Deep Sapphire Blue Velvet Full Skirt Dress

Absolutely phenomenal vintage Azzedine Alaia dress, from Fall/Winter 1988, as shown here documented on the runway - in a few different colors and styles, including one worn by the legendary icon and Alaia muse, Tina Turner. A very 1950s inspired silhouette, with a super fitted bodice, snatched waist, and very full sweep skirt. Deep sapphire blue velvet with black piping details throughout. Zip front closure. Unlined skirt. Bodice is lined in both sateen and velvet. Pockets at hips. Long sleeve with zippers at cuffs. A departure from 'King of Cling's' typical body-con, yet undeniably has his touches throughout.
