Christian Dior Vintage Early 1950s Tailored Grey Wool Black Velvet Double Breasted Hourglass Bar Jacket
Incredible and historic vintage jacket by Christian Dior, from the early 1950s. Done in the manner of The Bar Jacket, one of Dior's most iconic and well known designs- having included one or two (or more) in every collection following it's introduction in 1947. Known for it's hourglass silhouette and molded-like ultra tailored form - the Bar Jacket started a revolution. Deep charcoal fleck wool with a black velvet pop at the collar. Double breasted button front. Curved seams that cause an hourglass peplum at the high waist. Decorative buttons at cuffs. Vent at backside. Fully lined in silk satin. This piece is definitely worthy of a museum. Reference photos are from 1951.
