Frank Tignino Vintage Black Sheer Lace Georgette Dress and Duster Ensemble Set

Lovely and rare vintage dress by Frank Tignino from the late 1970s/early 1980s. Frank Tignino developed his passion for fashion design while apprenticing with Don Loper and other costumer designers during the 1950s in Hollywood, eventually moving on to be the design director of Geoffrey Beene - focusing on the made-to-order division, as well as the secondary designs. His work is of a couture level and his original designs are very rare. This amazing two-piece ensemble features a 1960s-inspired dress in black sheer georgette. with a fitted bodice trimmed in soutache floral lace at the top, lined in off-white, with beige straps. Side zipper closure. The matching duster is fitted at the waistline, with soutache lace at the cuffs and satin ribbon trimmings - complete with a wide black satin ribbon 'belt' that ties at the front. A great two-for-one, as both pieces can be worn on their own or together.
