Hanae Mori Vintage 1972 Exceptional Vivid Layered Floral Silk Ruffle Sleeve Gown
Breathtaking vintage beauty from 1972 by Hanae Mori. They don't make 'em like this anymore, that is for sure. This gown is a phenomenal example of all of the reasons why Hanae Mori is such a beloved and celebrated designer. A wondrous piece, featuring one of her most acclaimed design elements- the layered print that creates an off-set, jaw-dropping effect. The entire scenic floral is printed on both the sheer silk chiffon layer and the silk twill layer underneath. A combination of both pastels and vibrants create a shock and awe. Fitted upper with a slight flare toward the hem. Slightly cropped sleeve with a flouncy belled cuff that consists of the flora print chiffon over three layers of the most vivid pink silk ruffles. The back closes by zipper and the chiffon layer shuts over it with matching fabric covered snaps. All completely hand sewn and hand finished throughout. Fully lined in a tissue weight rayon. Bergdorf Goodman label inside that is dated 1972.
