Martin Margiela Vintage AW 1989 Rare and Extraordinary Rust Ribbed Darted V Neck Sweater

Phenomenal and ultra rare vintage archival Martin Margiela sweater from Fall/Winter 1989, his second collection. Hairy, thick, boiled-style wool exhibiting a variety of shades of rusty oranges, reds, and greys. Wide ribbing, with inset knit detailing. Wide v-neck. Deconstructed outward facing seams at the hips and sleeves. Noteworthy peaked shoulders and super interesting darts along the sleeves, the details that make this collection legendary. Original tag still attached, this sweater has never been worn and has been tucked away since 1989.

Condition: Excellent overall condition- this sweater still has the tag attached and has verifiably never been worn. However, there is faded line along the shoulders and top of backside of collar, more significant on the left side, clearly from being exposed to light for all this time while hanging (see last photo). Honestly, it looks pretty cool and kind of goes with the nature of the sweater and the essence of Margiela. Priced firmly and accordingly, this is still an extremely rare museum-worthy treasure that is impossible to find.
