PX Helen Robinson Vintage Terracotta Cotton Lace Up Blouson Sleeve Poet Top
Incredible and extremely rare vintage late 1970s/early 1980s top from PX Helen Robinson. Helen Robinson and Stephane Raynor opened their shop PX in 1978 in London's Covent Garden and became a bustling hub for the era's club and 'Blitz Kids', including Visage's Steve Strange, who worked in the shop for a couple years. In the basement in 1979, you could find Stephen Jones making and selling his hats. This piece perfectly captures and fuses the New Romantic and Pirate style of this era in Britain. Lengthy, tunic style top in an airy, lightweight terracotta cotton. Heavily gathered at the yoke and graduating into a super full, a-line silhouette. Massive blouson sleeve with an extended cuff. Lace up closure at front and detail at cuff in brown cotton cord. A remarkable and hard to find piece.
