Roberto Capucci Vintage 1991 Alta Moda OUTSTANDING 'Shades of Geranium' Paneled Silk Chiffon Gown
Breathtaking and unreal vintage gown by Roberto Capucci, an Italian fashion master and legend, a talent so overwhelming, appreciated by the likes of Christian Dior. It's easy to see why when viewing this dress or any of his work. This particular piece comes with an incredible provenance- it was custom made for Opera Singer Anna Caterina Antonacci for a performance in Tokyo in 1991. It has also been exhibited in museums, including 'Il Teatro alla Moda', and is book documented as well. Called 'Shades of Geranium'- panels of vivid pink, bright orange, burgundy, and pastel shades of silk chiffon comprise this utterly beautiful piece. One shouldered, with a train that is connected to the dress and extends to the floor (complete with open area for belt to pass through- genius!). An extremely full sweeping skirt layered over a more fitted column liner, which has a slit for movement. Fitted bodice with side zipper closure. Fixed waist. Complete with matching belt. Made to couture standards. An absolute masterpiece.

Please refer to measurements to ensure a proper fit.
Measurements: Bust 34-36" MAX, Waist 27", Hip up to 38", Length 61"
Condition: Excellent overall condition. Please keep in mind that this dress has traveled a lot, so it is not perfect. There is some minor stressing to some of the seams at the panels, particularly at the back of the bodice. Minor/faint soiling at underarm. A couple minor holes, one patched, that are completely lost in the generous fabric of the skirt and train. This dress is a historic knockout and presents beautifully either way.
