Roberto Capucci Vintage Phenomenal Alta Moda Shades of Purple Voluminous Layered Ruffle Dress

Phenomenal vintage Roberto Capucci dress from the late 1980s/early 1990s. This outstanding piece is an absolute showstopper! This Alta Moda couture piece is absolutely outstanding, constructed from six varying shades of purple silk chiffon and taffeta. A long sleeve, slight a-line shift dress with cascading panels attached at a variety of lengths, each adorned with multiple layers of shaped taffeta ruffles - like wearing a blooming flower. A remarkable detail- the highest cascading panels off set, one attached at the front left shoulder and the other at the back right, creating an off-set silhouette that is to die for from every angle. Zip closure at backside. Lightly padded shoulder for structure. A grosgrain belt is attached inside for support but it is not necessary to utilize this. If it couldn't get any better, almost every single stitch is done by hand. A whimsical and delightful piece that is definitely worthy of a museum.
