Salvador Dali Vintage 1988 La Divina Comedia Foulards 'Los Angeles Guardianes Del Valle' Canto 8 Silk Art Scarf
Breathtaking vintage scarf, produced in collaboration with Salvador Dali for 'La Divina Comedia Foulards' series, from 1988. This beautiful silk scar features 'Los Angeles Guardianes Del Valle', Canto 8, a 1950s watercolor and wood engraving series by Dali, which was part of Dali's interpretation of Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri. The series was commissioned by the Italian Government (and later cancelled), and Dali was tasked with illustrating the epic poem. It is widely considered to be one of Dali's finest graphic achievements. The certificate of authenticity, enclosed with the original box, states "The Divine Comedy Scarf by Salvador Dali. The scarf measures 90 x 90cm, printed on silk. It has been carried out according to an agreement with Salvador Dali, dated July 12, 1981, and a contract with La Societe Editions D'Art Les Heures Claires. From July 6, 1988." (translated from Spanish". This scarf is absolutely a piece of wearable (or framable!) art, with a masterful color palette and construction. Hand rolled edges.
